The ReqFilterFields must be blank and DataItemTableView must have a sort order
 
There are other ways to do this but here is one:

Create the two tables such as lockers and stuff.  Round stuff can go in round lockers while square stuff goes in square lockers.  The lockers and the stuff have ids and shapes (square, round).  A stuff is set in a locker by the id.  You need a lookup form for the stuff table, too.  Set up the stuffId field in the Locker table according to the following picture:



Note that the last item in the Table relation window is a catchall case. The lines in the table Relation list are separated by "else"s.
